While some industries are keener on workplace accidents, every organisation needs to define its own risks related to workplace accidents and elaborate a policy to prevent such accidents before they happen. An unsafe work environment can lead to ethical and legal liabilities that may harm the organisation’s overall well-being and lifespan.
Regulatory Definition
According to the (EU) 2022/1288 of 6 April 2022, the metric is defined as "Share of investments in investee companies without a workplace accident prevention policy".

A workplace accident prevention policy is usually integrated with related ISO standards and external audits done by Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) professionals. It usually contains a company-specific risk assessment, defined performance indicators, OHS training provided to workers, etc. It can be integrated into management reports, sustainability statements and/or published separately.
